Help and support in Moray
Circles Advocacy Moray delivers a free, independent advocacy service
Who can use the service?
Those people who are 18 years and over, who live in Moray and are experiencing one or more of the following conditions:
● mental ill health
● dementia
● learning, physical or sensory impairments
● acquired brain injury
● chronic/long term illness
● autistic spectrum diagnosis
● lived experience of drug or alcohol dependency
● personality disorder
● long covid
We support people to:
● have a say about the services they receive
● understand their rights
● raise issues they are worried about
● ensure safeguarding in situations where they may be vulnerable
We also support young people who are 16 and 17 years old who are subject to, or where an order has been applied for under the Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) 2000 or Adult support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
We are inclusive in our approach and support adults of all ages and backgrounds
Examples of advocacy provision include assisting with:
● adult protection meetings
● adults with incapacity hearings/meetings
● GP/health professional appointments
● mental health tribunals
● social work meetings/reviews
● care programme approach (CPA) meetings
● ward and care home reviews
● discharge meetings
● meetings with mental health solicitors
● self-directed support (SDS) reviews
