Our South East England hub is located in Crawley. The hub was first established in 2016, and during 2020 it went through a period of crisis where the local funding simply wasn’t available during the challenges of COVID-19.
Since August 2023 the community hub has re-established itself and is able to now provide a growing range of services to those in need. All services are funded by the social services and delivered on a 1-1 basis.
The services provided are centred around day-to-day community support for adults with learning disabilities, vulnerabilities and mental health needs. The majority of those supported are middle aged and male, who are living independently but require additional support navigating their local communities.
Support varies from a couple hours a week up to 17 hours per week supporting all aspects of life. It can include some or all of the following.
• Going shopping
• Managing finances
• Healthy living
• Tidying the home
• Going for a walk
• Finding work
• Accessing training & more
All of our staff are trained in de-escalation via the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® model, which is a person-centred, proactive and therapeutic approach.
It’s specially designed to ensure our carers are equipped to compassionately support children and adults with complex needs, challenging behaviour or mental health needs.
At the hub, we offer FIVE keys areas of support, which enables our teams to provide the highest levels of care to those we provide community support to, whilst collaborating with their circles of support.
Our person-centred 3D community support is tailored to the needs of the individual. We can support anyone, regardless of age, ability or diagnosis.
Typically, our 3D support is a lower level of support for people with learning disabilities, who may be struggling, feeling isolated, and may have mental health needs which means they need a safe and trustworthy community around them.
The support we provide is delivered on days and times of the person we’re working with’s choosing, and with things they specifically ask for help with. This can include many of the activities listed above or accessing our alternative education and LifeSkills courses.

The adults we support can be at a higher risk of being targeted or more likely to engage in anti-social or aggressive behaviours through frustration and paranoia.
Our 4D community care facilitates for these higher needs, including: alcohol addition, support attending groups and follow-through, drugs, risky behaviours, trauma and more.
During 4D care individuals are intensively supported and as time goes on transitioned down to varying levels of 3D community support.
