The South East England Circles Academy is a new and exciting part of our offering in the region.
Whilst our courses and workshops are more established in other regions, our pilots will carry the same ethos and values designed to support everyone within a circle of support. This includes anyone from parents and carers, to individuals and their care teams.
At Circles Network we’ve created a tailored, bespoke learning and development Academy that offers a range of learning experiences, that focus on shifting attitudes and practices. We deliver a range of courses in health and social care, advocacy, person-centred approaches, neurolinguistic programming, coaching and facilitation, among other subjects. Our style is flexible and inclusive, and we aim to include real stories of change with the opportunity to learn from others who are ‘experts by experience’ – with facilitated learning sessions. People who have lived experiences of disability, discrimination and long-term exclusion have much to offer to enlighten hearts and minds towards future-proofing lifestyles of inclusion.
All of our staff are trained in de-escalation via the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® model, which is a person-centred, proactive and therapeutic approach.
It’s specially designed to ensure our carers are equipped to compassionately support children and adults with complex needs, challenging behaviour or mental health needs.
As a personal care provider we’re regulated by the Care Quality Commission – CQC. Caroline, who’s details you can find at the bottom of this page is our Registered Manager.
This programme was set up in memory of our colleague and friend Rose Scott.
The LifeSkills programme is focused, therefore, on helping anyone over the age of 18 in the community who needs support at transitory periods in their life.
It may be that they’re a parent who no longer cares for their child because they’ve gone to school and now they don’t know what to do with their free time, or they might keep getting rejected from job interviews with no explanation as to why.
Every 6 weeks we take on new groups of people for a programme comprising of 6-10 weekly sessions. Each session typically runs for 2 hours at a time.
Over the course of the programme we will cover topics such as:
• Understanding their learning styles
• Finance and budgeting
• Interviewing skills
• Reviewing achievements
• Boosting confidence
• Overcoming the fears of returning to work, and
• Topics requested by our learners
The sessions are collaborative, educational and hands-on, catering to a range of abilities. At the end of the programme participants also receive a certificate awarded by Barclays Bank.
Supporting the post 16 school leavers age group. Our provisions are aimed at those who are looking to access college but may be struggling to find a good fit, especially when additional considerations for learning disability or mental health needs are required.
