Harry’s story – Rugby.
With a sharp memory, Harry’s days are coloured by the food he eats. He even remembers places simply based on the food he once ate there.
When Circles Network first met Harry he wasn’t even able to walk through his own home. His parents needed an extra layer of support, where Harry could simply focus on having fun and enjoying life, which much of the care he’d received just didn’t offer.
Circles Network have supported Harry since 2017, he’s now 17. Still living with his parents he’s able to enjoy life to the full. Harry has a complex 2-1 care plan and is supported by a personal care team in addition, as he’s diagnosed with autism, significant developmental delay, ADHD and has a mental age of 2 years.
“To all the team at Circles Network, I just wanted to take this opportunity, on behalf of Nick and I, to say a MASSIVE ‘thank you’ to you all for the all-round fabulous support you have given our lovable lad, Harry, over the years.
He has honestly benefitted, beyond measure, from the time he has spent with you all. Right from the beginning, when Neil spent just a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon with our lad, the focus was always on Harry and making his time with you all as happy and interactive as possible.
As the years have gone by, everyone at Circles Network, headed by the indomitable Neil, has continued to develop and extend Harry’s activities in various ways… always with a smile on their face and boundless energy and care.
They provide a safe environment within which he is able to both express himself and learn to manage his diverse and unpredictable needs. Nurturing is central to the team’s support and they are always willing to adapt the sessions to meet Harry’s ever-changing situation.
Harry looks forward to his weekly catch-ups with the team with soooo much enthusiasm and is quite desperate when he doesn’t see them for whatever reason.
We really cannot recommend Circles Network highly enough and thank you again for all the energy and effort and care you have shown our son.” – Kate and Nick
Through Circles Network Harry has a way to experience independence, and is picked up from school two nights a week so he can spend some time doing things like going out to eat, taking a walk in the park, watching films on his tablet, learning new words, as well as singing and rapping to his hearts content. He likes patterns, but he loves riffing to music and most of all laughing!
He’s grown so much in the time he’s been supported by the Circles Network.
