Robert’s story – Fife.
Throughout the 90s, Robert had used drugs recreationally, starting off in the rave scene, but eventually he fell into heroin addiction around 2001.
“I was trapped in the cycle of addiction and attempts at recovery for 17 years. I spent time in prison.
I was homeless at times. I had to attend children and family meetings for access to see my daughter.”
Robert’s lived experience gives him a way to relate with those the Circles Network work with, as he understands the stigma many face.
He’s now able to support others going through similar situations in his role as a Recovery Advocate through the Circles Network.
