An Introduction to EFL
This programme is particularly relevant to people who work with isolated or vulnerable children or adults and those who have a love of horses. It consists of three modules over a year to give potential practitioners time to practice and gain vital experience between each module.
Previous experience of, or interest in horsemanship and qualifications in health, education or social care will be taken into account when allocating places.
Incorporated in the programme are stand-alone courses in child and adult protection and first aid.
The introductory module includes sessions on:
- Natural horsemanship techniques
- Tools to build trust and relationships
- The horse and human as facilitators
- Activities to address specific areas
- Influencing change in behaviour
- Creativity and nurturing
- Recording progress
Our programmes includes sessions from guest trainers and speakers, such as Blake McCusker, who specialises in natural horsemanship training.
Each participant will receive 1:1 hands on, practical instruction, a sound basis of theory and opportunities for observation and reflective practice. The interesting mix of participants and presenters provides rich learning.
Evening discussions and seminars will be held on a variety of related topics, with input from skilled practitioners.
Our EFL courses are designed to enable human and equine facilitators to work together to assist people to create changes in their lives.
