Individual sessions for children, young people and adults

Taking the Reins can offer eligible disabled or disadvantaged children and young people six free facilitated sessions. You can choose to take these sessions at one hour per week or as a block, for example as two 3 hour sessions. Our definition of disadvantage is broad and we include children and young people who are disadvantaged socially, financially, emotionally and behaviourally. We can offer subsidised session rates to people of any age or situation, including adults, who feel that they may benefit.

All of our sessions are focused around the child, young person or adult with whom we are working, and their individual goals, skills, levels of mobility and communication preference. Our facilitators have a wide range of experience of working with people with physical and sensory impairments and complex needs as well as people with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD and behaviour considered challenging. The contents of sessions is flexible so that we can adjust them to fit the person, how they feel that day and what they would like to achieve.
